Beauty is one of the central themes in my paintings, creating a sense of beauty, harmonized beauty on three planes: the tactile, literal, and sensual. The cycle of a flower interests me as well, the idea of renewal with a new seed, the growth of a plant and emergence of a vivid flower, pollination and then the decaying return to the earth. Many things come and go in cycles; the flower?s cycle can be seen as an allegory for the arrival and departure of a day or season. It is what connects us to nature, cycles of birth and death; it is what connects every person to nature and to one another.
